Les Gets World Cup 2002 Track Review
While in france I had a pootle down the world cup course and it looks cool, lots of rocks and roots. Quite narrow all the way down, not many line choices.
This is it as far as i can remember:
It Starts in the field between the first and second lifts on Mont Chery and cuts left across it. Then launches off a brick thing into a long berm (4ft+ drop depending on speed). Across some more field and into the tree's and down a bank.
Then out into the open and down a loose,
steep slate covered bank and over a fireroad. Steep woods off the fireroad,
cutting right through some tree's and off a small double into a narrow right
handed berm.
Next comes a tricky root/stump launch ramp into a smaller berm.
Down some rocks and out of the woods going round a long open left hander up to a step/hip (i say hip, as the landings a long way away, and i'm not sure it's on.
After that, pedal down a field and over a small step down and then a small drop off. the track cuts left along some singletrack and drops down a real steep 10ft high rocky bank and into a gulley. Out of the gulley, sprint over some rocks and over the first road jump into a real small and long right hand berm in some tree's.
Into a field and over another road jump, then a drop down into a small berm. Swing up through a field and line yourself up for the biggest jump of the course, 12foot or so over a road. Then some off camber corners by the lift station and into town.
Thats the best i can remember, may not all be in the right order, and i think i missed out another road jump.
The course looks and feels very much like
the Leysin course of 2001.
